During April, May and June, Europe Jazz Network held online think-tank talks with its members. InJazz assembled the Dutch jazz sector to discuss the crisis and its consequences. In both cases ‘the audience’, that elusive entity that is such a great part of the business, came up regularly. Now that Europe is starting to 'open up' again, what does the audience want? How do venues, festivals and artists deal with the ticket buyers' wishes - and their critique? Can the customer still be king in the new situation?
By the end of June there will be a little more insight in the subject, with many countries having experienced limited openings and first audience responses. Radio journalist Mijke van Wijk will talk about this matter with an international panel of professionals who have started experimenting with new club set-ups and who are re-thinking festival programming.
The inJazz conference is English spoken.
