How are the people doing in New York, the city that never sleeps? How are the musicians, promotors, agents and other stakeholders dealing with this particularly interesting time?
How does this affect the endless creativity coming from the New York scene? What developments are we seeing emerging from the crisis and what new business models are being discussed to get jazz back in a healthy performing environment? What can the international jazz community and especially the Dutch jazz community learn from these developments and where can we synergize efforts to become a stronger ecosystem? Frank van Berkel (born 1963) is working as program director at the BIMHUIS Amsterdam, The Netherlands, since January 2018.
